: As for specifics, I think Rick or Jim should be consulted to see if we are ready to make an announcement and/or request concerning affiliates and insurance. I am not the best person to speak on this, but only listed it because it is something very important to many US affiliates and it shouldn't be overlooked. : -Dave D. We are NOT yet ready to announce affiliate insurance, but we're close. Even so, I'm not sure it warrants announcement in a mass email to the membership, because it's not a direct benefit to individual members. Here's where we are: we have drafts of documents for affiliates to file with their state agencies, and for the IJA to file with the IRS. The other side of the equation involves working out the details with the IJA's insurance provider to see exactly what it will mean in real-life terms to the IJA. (I've requested a copy of the IJA's policy from our Treasurer. If somebody knows the name of our agent or representative, I'd happily take that information.) Once all the pieces of the program are in place, we (the board) will need to approve it. Once this happens, I'm sure we can make the packet of information/forms available on the new website for affiliates to download. At that time, we can announce the availability on this (and any other) forum, plus the Affiliates Director can directly notify affiliate contacts.
