: Sadly there wasn't any information at the registration table about the IJA at our festival. I didn't think about it until just now. I know we've had IJA info at registration in the past. Wouldn't it make sense to send some brochures to each regional festival and have an IJA representative from the local club handing out info, expecially now that we have an introductory package?

: I'd rather see more emphasis on encouraging an association with the affiliate clubs and their festivals than the expense of a second IJA festival each year. If the IJA board members want to meet and conduct business during the winter, they could pick a different regional festival each year to attend.


This is a very interesting idea. The only problem I see is revenues from past winter fests either covered all costs and supplied some surplus (the intial couple of fests provided some of the revenues to help pay off the money borrowed by past boards from the life member fund). Even when we lost money, the revenues still covered most of the expenses to go to the fest. So my question here is, would local affiliates be willing to share some of the revenues from their fest to offset IJA expenses to go there and have board meetings. Probably not. So what do we do to make this happen. I think it would be good for all parties but we can't afford to just send folks to a fest with no thoughts of having the expense paid for. Any ideas?
