A Message from the Chairman, May, 2015

“To render assistance to fellow jugglers.”

That has long been the mantra of the IJA. We strive to do just that; to benefit jugglers young and old, professionals to hobbyists, all over the world. There are several areas that we have been focusing on that exemplify just that.

Our youth education program, Youth Juggling Academy (YJA), continues to expand. The juggling merit badges we have been doing are a huge hit in the program! In the next couple months, we have a variety of new badges that will be released for students to earn for their progress. We are also set to have an improved online presence for YJA with more information and regular updates. For those attending the IJA festival this summer, the YJA will also have a table set up with information about the program for those that would like to get involved.

Our IRC program has three events happening this year: Central America, Mexico, and South America. We are pleased to be sponsoring events in these areas and rewarding those who choose to compete! Expect to see videos of these events available for IJA members (only) later this year on eJuggle.

World Juggling Day is less than one month away! Once again, we will be selling a brand new World Juggling Day T-shirt in our store. To see this year’s design and follow other WJD developments, check out our World Juggling Day Facebook page. Are you hosting a WJD event or looking for a WJD event near you? If so, hop on over to our WJD events page for more information.

In IJA Board news, I would like to welcome Bob Neuman to the IJA Board of Directors. Lucho Fernandez has resigned from his position on the Board of Directors and Bob has been appointed to serve the duration of that term. We wish Lucho all the best in his future endeavors, and we are thrilled to have a long time IJA supporter such as Bob back on the Board.

Speaking of which, our deadline for IJA Board Nominations has been extended to June 19th. If you are interested in running for board or would like to nominate someone, don’t be shy! Every year we have a few spots open for fresh faces and new ideas. No matter what your walk of life in juggling, everyone has something unique and valuable to contribute. Submit nominations and inquires to: ijanominations@juggle.org.

Juggle on,
