Since the beginning of the Russian-Ukrainian conflict, more than 6.5 million people, including men, women, boys, and girls, have left Ukraine to take refuge in European countries such as Poland, Romania, Slovakia, among others, according to data from the international organization for migrations, associated with the UN.
According to UNICEF, since February 24, 2022, 4.3 million children have been internally and externally displaced, which equates to more than half of the child population of the entire Ukrainian country. The implementation of protection for children in the midst of conflict must be immediate. The United Nations Security Council estimates that at least 100 children have died as a result of the war in Ukraine.
Different non-profit foundations have carried out volunteer days with material and immaterial collaborations with a focus on children. The help ranges from school supplies, clothing, food, etc., to artistic entertainment performed, also, by independent people.
This is the case of Buenaventura Negrín.
His name is Pablo Pierrot. He is an Argentine juggler with years of experience in the circus world. He started juggling 22 years ago. In 2004, he arrived in Brazil where he studied clowning and acrobatics. In 2009, he settled in Spain and, a couple of years later, he traveled to many countries in Europe, Asia, and North Africa.
It was in 2019 when he volunteered with circus shows in Donbas, Ukraine, at a time when the conflict in that area seemed to have calmed down.

“I offered to do it and contacted a group from “Coworking the Donetsk” who had moved to Kiyv, called Izolyatsia (artist residency program). They contacted me with an organization from Lysychansk, called Druzhba (means friendship in Russian) and received me there, from where I went to towns on the line between Lysychansk and Popasna. Children from schools took me there and I did shows and balloon twisting,” says Pablo.
A year later, he traveled to Croatia, where he stayed for only a year and a half, until he returned to Ukraine. The Russian invasion in 2022 brought him to Poland where he worked with displaced Ukrainians.

When Pablo returned to Croatia, he saw that the Circorama company, from Zagreb, published a message on Facebook asking for donations of musical instruments for one hundred children who lived in the Plitvice hotel, supported by the Red Cross. Some lines of the appeal are: “Our goal is to make a music room in one of the hotel rooms where children can spend time playing music and forget about the current situation a bit. I invite everyone from Zagreb and its surroundings to donate musical instruments (guitars, synthesizers, percussion instruments…) that you don’t need and that way you help. If you have an instrument to donate, please write to me.”
Pablo, along with the artists Patricia Vergara, Camila Cellio, Camila Muñoz, Cid Freddy Amador, Bruce Sting Sánchez, David Avellaneda Vergara, Felipe Arman Sandoval Pérez, Emilio Alcántar, from Venezuela, Colombia, Chile, and Argentina, offered to take shows of circus to the children outside the Plitvice hotel, as we see below.

While Pablo and others continue to volunteer, the numbers of migrants, missing persons and deaths in the Ukraine conflict continue to rise.
Arte y malabares para los niños ucranianos
Desde el inicio del conflicto ruso-ucraniano, más de 6,5 millones de personas, entre hombres, mujeres, niños y niñas, dejaron Ucrania para refugiarse en países europeos como Polonia, Rumania, Eslovaquia, entre otros, según datos de la organización internacional de las migraciones, asociada a la ONU.
Según UNICEF, desde el 24 de febrero de 2022 han sido desplazados, interna y externamente, 4,3 millones de niños, lo que significa más de la mitad de la población infantil de todo el país ucraniano. La implementación de una protección a los niños en medio del conflicto debe ser inmediata. El consejo de seguridad de Naciones Unidas estima que, al menos, cien niños han muerto como consecuencia de la guerra en Ucrania.
Precisamente, diferentes fundaciones sin ánimo de lucro han realizado jornadas de voluntariado con colaboraciones materiales e inmateriales con enfoques a la niñez. Las ayudan van desde útiles escolares, ropa, comida, etc., hasta entretenimiento artístico realizado, también, por personas independientes.
Es el caso de Buenaventura Negrín.
Su nombre es Pablo Pierrot. Es un malabarista argentino con años de experiencia en el mundo del circo. Comenzó a hacer malabares hace 22 años. En 2004, llegó a Brasil donde estudió clown y acrobacia. En 2009, se instaló en España y, un par de años después viajó por muchos países de Europa, Asia y África del Norte.
Fue en 2019 cuando hizo voluntariados con espectáculos de circo en Donbás, Ucrania, en un momento donde el conflicto en esa zona parecía haberse calmado.

“Me ofrecí a hacerlo y me contacté con un grupo de “Coworking the Donetsk” que se habían trasladado a Kiyv, llamado Izolyatsia (programa de residencias para artistas). Ellos me contactaron con una organización de Lysychansk, llamada Druzhba (significa amistad en ruso) y me recibieron allá, desde donde iba a pueblos en la línea entre lysychansk y Popasna. Allí me llevaban niños de las escuelas y hacía espectáculos y globoflexia”, dice Pablo.
Un año después, viajó a Croacia, donde estuvo solo un año y medio, hasta que volvió a Ucrania. La invasión rusa en 2022 lo llevó a Polonia donde trabajó con desplazados ucranianos.

Cuando Pablo regresó a Croacia, vio que la compañía Circorama, de Zagreb, publicó un mensaje en Facebook pidiendo donaciones de instrumentos musicales para cien niños que vivían en el hotel Plitvice, apoyados por Cruz Roja. Algunas líneas de la publicación son: “Nuestro objetivo es hacer una sala de música en una de las habitaciones de hotel donde los niños puedan pasar tiempo tocando música y olvidarse un poco de la situación actual. Los invito a todos los de Zagreb y sus alrededores a donar instrumentos musicales (guitarras, sintetizadores, instrumentos de percusión…) que no necesitas y de esa manera ayudas. Si tienes un instrumento para donar, por favor, escríbeme”.
Pablo, junto a los artistas Patricia Vergara, Camila Cellio, Camila Muñoz, Cid Freddy Amador, Bruce Sting Sánchez, David Avellaneda Vergara, Felipe Arman Sandoval Pérez, Emilio Alcántar, de Venezuela, Colombia, Chile y Argentina, se ofrecieron para llevar shows de circo a los niños a las afueras del hotel Plitvice, como vemos a continuación.

Mientras Pablo y otras personas siguen haciendo voluntariados, las cifras de migrantes, desaparecidos y muertos en el conflicto de Ucrania siguen en aumento.
ウクライナの子供たちへ、アートとジャグリングのワークショップ
ロシアとウクライナの紛争が始まって以来、国連関係の国際移住機関が提供するデータによると、男性、女性、少年、少女合わせて合計 650 万人以上がウクライナを離れ、ポーランド、ルーマニア、スロバキアなどのヨーロッパの他の国々に避難している。
ユニセフによると、2022 年 2 月 24 日以降 に国内外に避難した子供の数は 430 万人。これはウクライナ全体の子供の人口の半分以上を占める。紛争の渦中にある子供たちの保護は、早急に実施されなければならない。国連安全保障理事会は、ウクライナでの戦争の結果、少なくとも 100 人の子どもが死亡したと推定している。
一方で、さまざまな非営利財団が子供たちに焦点を当てた物的・非物的な協力によるボランティアデーを実施している。学用品、衣類、食料などの支援から、組織には属さない人々により演じられる芸術的なエンターテインメントまで、その内容は多岐にわたる。
今回紹介するのは、ブエナベントゥラ・ネグリン（Buenaventura Negrín）のケースだ。
彼の名前はパブロ・ピエロ（Pablo Pierrot）。アルゼンチンのジャグラーで、サーカス界で長年の経験がある。彼がジャグリングを始めたのは 22 年前である。2004 年にブラジルに渡り、クラウン芸とアクロバットを学ぶ。2009 年にはスペインに移住し、その数年後、ヨーロッパ、アジア、北アフリカの多くの国を旅した。
ウクライナのドンバスでサーカスショーのボランティアをしたのは、同地域の紛争が落ち着いてきた 2019 年のことだった。

パブロはこう語る。
「その頃キーウに移動していた『コワーキング・ザ・ドネツク』のイゾリアツィアという団体（アーティスト・レジデンシー・プログラム）に僕の方から連絡したんです。すると彼らはリシチャンスクのドルジバ（ロシア語で友情の意）という団体と繋げてくれて、そこが私を受け入れてくれ、リシチャンスクとポパスナの間にある町々を周りました。学校の子どもたちが目的地まで連れていってくれて、ショーやバルーンツイストをやりました」
1 年後にはクロアチアに渡るも、1 年半の滞在を経て、ウクライナに戻った。ところが 2022 年のロシアの侵攻によりポーランドに渡り、避難民となったウクライナ人に協力をするようになる。

クロアチアに戻ったパブロは、ザグレブのカンパニー Circorama が Facebook 上で公開していた、赤十字の支援でプリトヴィツェのホテルに住む 100 人の子供たちのために楽器の寄付募るメッセージを目にした。公開された内容の一部を紹介する。
「我々の目標は、ホテルの一室に音楽室を作り、そこで子供たちが音楽を奏でながら時間を過ごし、現状を少しでも忘れられるようにすることです。ザグレブとその近郊の皆さん、ぜひ不要な楽器（ギター、シンセサイザー、打楽器など）を寄付してください。それが支援になります。寄付する楽器をお持ちの方は、ぜひ私にご連絡を」。
パブロは、ベネズエラ、コロンビア、チリ、アルゼンチン出身のアーティスト、パトリシア・ベルガラ、カミラ・チェリオ、カミラ・ムニョス、シッド・フレディ・アマドル、ブルース・スティング・サンチェス、デビッド・アベラネダ・ベルガラ、フェリペ・アルマン・サンドバル・ペレス、エミリオ・アルカンタと共に、プリトヴィツェ・ホテルの外で子供たちにサーカスを披露した（動画参照）。
