eJuggle 5 Ball 30 Second Routine Video Challenge

In the late 2000s, Anthony Gatto created a series of challenges where jugglers could create 30-second-long videos of themselves performing an unedited routine using a number and type of prop specified by Anthony. All of the videos had to be placed online by a certain date and then jugglers could vote on which video they thought was the best. The video with the most votes won.

It has been suggested to me several times that I should create an updated version of these contests for eJuggle readers. It will be judged slightly differently so as to avoid jugglers having friends and family outside the juggling community voting in mass for a video and to avoid it being a popularity vote. The judging will be done by a committee of jugglers, including myself, who are obviously not participating in the challenge.

For this edition of the 30 Second Routine Video Challenge, we will be judging routines with 5 balls.

Film yourself doing an unedited routine with 5 balls lasting no longer than 30 seconds. The video can be longer, but the actual routine must be no longer than half a minute. Then, post this video to Youtube (preferred) or another online platform where videos can be embedded into WordPress. If possible please make Youtube videos unlisted (not private). Then email me video links at davidcainjuggler@hotmail.com or via Facebook. You have one month from the publishing of this article to submit videos, but to not overwhelm the judges, only the first 20 entries will be accepted. The committee will then review and judge the videos and select a winner. All of the submitted videos will appear in a follow-up article which will also announce the winner. The jugglers submitting the top three videos will receive one year IJA Memberships. Second place will also receive a $40 IJA Store gift certificate and the winner will receive an $80 IJA Store gift certificate.
