Hair-Hang is a circus technique that involves performing acrobatic movements while suspended by one’s hair. It is generally performed by women, although some men also practice it.
This technique was popularized by Chinese acrobats in the 19th century, where, contrary to what is seen today, men were the ones who performed it. On their tours, these artists from China inspired many women who performed these aerial acrobatics and passed their knowledge down from generation to generation, such as the Ayala family from Mexico.

Hair-Hang es una técnica de circo que consiste en hacer movimientos acrobáticos mientras se está suspendido en el aire colgado del cabello. Generalmente es hecho por mujeres, aunque hay algunos hombres que lo practican.
Esta técnica fue popularizada por acróbatas chinos en el siglo XIX donde, contrario a lo que se ve ahora, los hombres eran los que hacían Hair-hang. En sus giras, estos artistas de China lograron inspirar a muchas mujeres que realizaron estas acrobacias aéreas y transmitieron sus conocimientos de generación en generación, como la familia Ayala, de México.
