IJA Tricks of the Month by Liza van Brakel from Netherlands | Juggling Clubs

Hello my name is Liza (no s) van Brakel and I’m from the Netherlands. I studied circus at Codarts Circus Arts in Rotterdam. Rotterdam is still the place to be for me and that’s why this video is shot there. It’s also an ode to beautiful and colorful Rotterdam.

In those 4 years of circus school I started to combine two of my favorite disciplines: juggling and acro-dance. I’ve always been looking at juggling from a movement and physical perspective. Always sweating to the max to search for the impossibilities between juggling and movement and make them possible. That’s what I love about juggling.

This video is a collage of my today’s favorite juggling research. My juggling also got inspired by the surroundings of Rotterdam. From colorful walls to shadow bridges, Rotterdam has it all. Quarantine made me explore my own city again.

Special thanks to the sun.
Filming and editing by me.
