IJA Tricks of the Month by Maggie Rusak from Australia | Juggling balls

I’m Maggie Rusak and I’m a circus artist and juggler from Australia. Thanks for checking out my tricks of the month video. If you’d like to see more of my tricks you can find me @Maggierusak on Instagram.

Currently I’m based in Toulouse, France and this video was filmed during the second lockdown, so I was constrained to filming within 1km of where I live. Thankfully, I found a nice little spot outside of a warehouse tucked away in the suburbs where I could film without passers-by interrupting and potentially testing my terrible French. I was inspired by autumn and solitude.

I grew up doing youth circus in Adelaide, so I’ve been juggling almost as long as I can remember but started to get into it more seriously in my late teens. I love juggling because I’ve always had too much energy and find it difficult to relax, so for me juggling can be like a moving meditation.

Music: Day One One By F.S. Blumm & Nils Frahm

Sound effects: Very geographically inappropriate magpies as a homage to my home and my favourite bird.

Thank you
-Maggie
