“New” Bobby May Video and Props

Bobby May is one of the most famous jugglers of all time and deserves such acclaim. At the 2019 IJA Festival, a newly discovered film of Bobby was shown while votes were being counted during the Juggling Film Festival. The film is from a TV show Bobby did with singer Caterina Valente, recorded in Zurich, Switzerland in March 1966. It is believed to be his final TV appearance, before his health forced him to retire in 1968. Coincidentally, the props shown in the clip were brought to the festival to be given to the Museum of Juggling History. These props include his upside down headstand table, five balls, and hat. You can see the props, followed by the film that includes them, below. While Bobby May is older and not at the peak of his ability, his style and charisma shine through. It’s also great to see such a clear film of his inverted ball bounce routine.

I’m glad to be able to share this video with the juggling community. If you would like to see these and other Bobby May props, along with hundreds of other treasures, you can visit the Museum of Juggling History by appointment if you’re ever in southwest Ohio in the USA.
