Above, you can see the faces of the men that did us all a favor, by founding the IJA back in 1947. Now, we have the opportunity to be a part of the next step of the IJA’s history.
For the next few weeks – the IJA board of directors will be accepting “Letters of Interest” from people desiring to fill one of the important IJA officer positions. These positions have a variety of focuses, and require a minimum of a one year commitment. Officers help to direct the activity of the organization, and bring fresh and dynamic ideas to the board regarding their particular area of focus.
Officer positions include, but are not limited to:
– Communications Director
– Future Festival Site Coordinator
– Marketing Director
– Volunteer Coordinator
– European Representative
– Video Coordinator
– Web Master
– Mexican Representative
A full list of officer positions and job descriptions are available at:
If you would like to submit a letter of interest, please include the following:
– Position you are interested in.
– Qualifications you have for the position.
– Ideas or strategies you plan to enact while serving as an officer.
Submit your letter no later than September 15th, by e-mailing it to: firstname.lastname@example.org.
You must be an IJA member to serve as an IJA officer, but you are not required to obtain your membership until you have been selected for the position.
At the end of the 2 week period, the IJA board of directors will select the officers through a voting process, based on the letters of interest. Whether or not you are selected as the official “IJA Officer,” the board is excited to find a good fit for you as a volunteer within the organization.
