Although Pierre was once an internationally known artist, few people today know about him. His fame started when he created a solo juggling show. His incredible talent gave him contracts in many countries. On those tours he got to know a particular sport, which gave him more recognition.
Pierre Bel was born in Marseille, France, on June 29, 1927. His father, Gustave Bayles, a trapeze artist, introduced him to acrobatics. However, at the age of 10, young Pierre became interested in juggling. During recesses at Lycée Thiers School, he trained juggling balls and balloons. He was carried away by the reputation of jugglers such as Rastelli, Cinquevalli, and Kara.
Together with his father, they created the trapeze acrobatics group Les Alixons. They were presented in the best event halls in the world, such as Folkets Park, Sweden; La Scala, Copenhagen; and circuses, such as Circus Albert Rancy.

When Gustave Bayles left Les Alixons, Pierre began to perform alone. His solo debut was in June 1949, at Palladium, London, alongside actors Harpo and Chico Marx. A year later, he worked with Cirque Hengler. After that, his fame exploded. He traveled all over the world, including in South Africa, Australia, among other countries. He acted alongside movie stars such as Danny Kaye and Frank Sinatra.

Bel’s excellent body skills, due to acrobatics, allowed him to juggle with ease. His skills included: juggling clubs, spinning two balls on his fingers while holding a ball on his neck, spinning two balls on one finger, devilsticking with a tennis racket, juggling eight hoops, and countless other tricks.

On March 15, 1950, Pierre married Irene Mouton.
In 1956, on a trip to the United States, Pierre discovered, thanks to the athletes Norman Crider and Bill Finch, a curious activity: baton twirling. Consisting of rhythmically spinning a baton, of the sort used in cheerleading. In 1961, he incorporated that sport in France and he taught it for free throughout Europe. He created the national championships, and a small twirling school. For that reason, he stopped juggling and devoted himself body and soul to twirling.

Pierre had a daughter named Christine Bel. He taught her twirling at an early age. She won the French baton twirling championship in 1969, the European championship in 1971, and won the world title in the United States in 1974. Today, Christine owns an online store selling twirling accessories. She too, she teaches twirling throughout Europe, following the legacy of her father.

Pierre passed away on April 22, 1980, in Marseille, at the age of 53, after a surgical intervention.

Sus excelentes habilidades corporales, debido a la acrobacia, le permitieron hacer trucos de malabares fácilmente.
