Songs About Juggling – Part 1

Juggling and music have many things in common. They each deal with rhythm and duration, can both be described mathematically, and both can be used to entertain both the practitioner and an audience. Most juggling acts are accompanied by music. There is even a long tradition of jugglers playing music while performing juggling tricks. I wrote an article on that subject in the last ever issue of Juggle Magazine.

There are a number of instrumental pieces of music with titles related to jugglers and juggling. A few examples of sheet music to some of these are shown below.

However, the subject of today’s article and the follow up to it are songs with lyrics that are about juggling, jugglers, and / or the juggling community. Let’s take a look and listen to some of these, in no particular order. Because there are so many and because they each take some time to listen to, this collection will be broken down into two articles.
