Songs About Juggling – Part 2

In Part 1 of this article, I shared ten music videos of songs about juggling or jugglers. In part 2, we look at ten more videos, including three longer format videos containing multiple songs. Let’s get started.

The Passing Zone has not one, but two music videos featuring songs about juggling. One is their theme song and the other is their version of The 12 Days of Christmas.

Chris Chiappini did a juggling parody of Lady Gaga’s Just Dance.

Claude King’s song The Juggler is more metaphorical, but feel free to check it out.

Famed Australian kids’ music group The Wiggles recorded the song Juggling Balls.

1992, Jugglebug released Juggling Star, a video featuring quite a number of juggling themed songs used to teach juggling. Some of the videos for these songs featured a young Jason Garfield. The songs were written and performed by Joey Kline. You can see the video below.

Cal Courtney has written an entire mini-musical about being a juggler. You can see a trailer for it below.

Obviously not all songs are in English. Below is the song Die Welt Braucht Keine Jongleure by Sebastian Kramer.

In 1984, the New Zealand group Patea Maori Club released the song Poi E. The song became a number one hit in New Zealand. While it’s in the Maori language, the song is about poi. Check it out.

There have been some other examples of juggling songs, such The High Street Circus Song  (The Minstrel and the Juggler) from the documentary Juggling by Strider Productions. You can see a short version of this by clicking here and listen to the longer version by clicking here. It was written and performed by Andrew Potter and Wheeler Cole. Jason Garfield released a juggling rap years ago, but it does not appear to be online any more. The same is true for Australian juggler Llynda Nairn and her song It’s Okay To Make A Mistake.

I’ll close out with a recent film I made for the Juggling Film Festival at the 2019 IJA Fest. It features three parody juggling-themed songs featuring well-known Broadway songs with new lyrics I wrote.

David Cain is a professional juggler, juggling historian, and the owner of the world's only juggling museum, the Museum of Juggling History. He is a Guinness world record holder and 15 time IJA gold medalist. In addition to his juggling pursuits, David is a successful composer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and singer as well as the author of twenty-four books. He and his children live in Middletown, OH (USA).
