The Bobby Jule Video Collection – Coming Soon To IJA Members

Bobby Jule (real name Joe Pegnato) was there at the beginning of the IJA. He was a charter member of the organization and was the 2015 recipient of the IJA 2015 Historical Achievement Award. Click here to read an interview I did with Bobby previously.

Bobby took home movies of jugglers from the 1940s to the 1970s. He has agreed to allow me to release these videos through eJuggle. Some of these have already been used in recent articles, such as those below.

Here is the only known film of the Juggling Jewels.

Here is a excellent film of Martin Lamberti’s juggling and hand balancing acts.

Here is the only known video of Serge Flash performing on ice.

Here is a video of the Rudenko Brothers, filmed by Bobby Jule.

Others will be featured in upcoming articles on Ben Beri, Gus and Ursula, Sicki, Val Setz, and the Chiesa Family. However, most of the films in Bobby’s collection will be released in a series of member-only videos that will be published on eJuggle about once a month. These will include multiple Bobby May performances, multiple Trixie Larue performances, and mulitple Francis Brunn performances, all of which have never been seen by the juggling community and are not currently online. They will also include never before seen films of single performances by many other jugglers from the 1940s and 1950s, such as Rudy Cardenas, Bob Dupont, Stan Kavanaugh, Chester Dolphin, Boy Foy, the Five Willys, the Three Swifts, Bobby Winters, Pryde and Dell, Lou Fenard, George Moore, and Ben Mowatt, Jr. Also included were more recent jugglers such as David Lucas and Joey Jordan.

While many readers of eJuggle are IJA members, many more are not. This is a perfect opportunity to support the work that the IJA does by joining the organization. The IJA not only produces the annual festival and eJuggle, but they sponsor World Juggling Day, regional competitions all over the world, online tutorials, the Youth Juggling Academy, and many other worthwhile projects. The members only content includes not only these upcoming videos, but also previous festival videos and special videos from some of the world’s top jugglers. Please consider joining the IJA today. Click here to join. Don’t miss out on these wonderful videos that will be coming soon and all of the member-only content on eJuggle, as well as member discounts with various vendors and other benefits available to those who join.
