Bobby Jule (real name Joe Pegnato) was there at the beginning of the IJA. He was a charter member of the organization and was the 2015 recipient of the IJA 2015 Historical Achievement Award. Bobby took home movies of jugglers from the 1940s to the 1970s. He has agreed to allow the IJA to release these videos through eJuggle. Bobby Jule filmed juggling icon Trixie five times. One show is on stage and the other four performances are on ice skates. Note that these films are the only know examples that show Trixie flashing 7 plates and juggling five large balls. If you’d like to see even more rare video of Trixie, be sure to attend the Juggling History Show at the 2017 IJA Festival. We’ll be showing the earliest known film of Trixie, as well as videos of Bobby May, Adanos, and others that have never been seen my the juggling community.

Also available at the 2017 IJA Festival will be a new book about Trixie’s life and career, written by Scott Cain. This full biography was written with the help and blessing of Trixie’s family and will include over 100 photos.
