For my shows, I have created many routines over the past 39 years that feature me performing various non-juggling related activities while toss juggling. Below are a variety of examples of activities that I and other jugglers have done while toss juggling other than they typical talking and telling jokes. Please keep in mind that for many of these skills, I could have included examples by many different jugglers. Also, I’m excluding things like riding a unicycle, cracking a whip, spinning a lasso, spinning a ball, and balancing that are often done by jugglers while toss juggling. Some of the following have performance possibilities while others are merely for recreational purposes.
Playing the ukulele and singing (David Cain)
Jumping rope (Marco Bonisimo)
Running (Various jugglers)
Swimming (Bob Evans)
Solving a Rubik’s Cube (Que Jianyu)
Playing the piano (Vova and Olga Galchenko)

Other examples of skills I’ve performed while toss juggling include reading from a randomly selected page of a book, escaping from ungimmicked handcuffs (while juggling two balls and the key), playing the recorder, and escaping from a rope tied around my wrist by a volunteer. If you have other examples, especially those with video, please send them my way.
